Winter Swimming World Championships 2023

We're glad to announce that the next Winter Swimming World Championships are going to be held in Bled, Slovenia. Save the date - from January 23 to January 29, 2023.

The pearl among the Alps is here to aid us and will host the Winter Swimming World Championships 2023 (further WSWC 2023) once more. Lake Bled now has an established history with Winter Swimming having hosted World Championships in 2010 and 2020 and they are looking forward to welcoming swimmers from around the globe to the 13th Winter Swimming World Championships which will take place from 23 to 29 January 2023.

During WSWC 2020 Lake Bled welcomed over a thousand winter swimming enthusiasts from 36 countries and with the increased popularity of winter swimming they look forward to welcoming even more countries to our winter swimming family. Lake Bled invites you to experience winter swimming in this idyllic alpine gem in the heart of Europe – Slovenia!

Find the perfect distance and stroke over four days of competition:

  • 25 meter ice-butterfly,
  • 25, 50, 100 & 200 meter head-up breaststroke,
  • 25, 50, 100, 200 & 450 meter freestyle,
  • Breaststroke & freestyle relay.
