The Arctic - the territory of dialogue

The Top Leaders, president of Finland Sauli Niinistö, president of Russia Vladimir Putin and Prime Ministers from Norway, Iceland and Sweden were present at the International Forum "The Arctic - the territory of dialogue" in St. Petersburg, Russia. 

Roman Karkachev represented also International Winter Swimming Association in the Forum. He passed winter swimmers greetings and big thanks to Mr. Parfenchikov, Head of Karelia. Roman invited in person Mr. Beglov, Governor of St. Petersburg, to join the Big Neva Cup 2020. 

He also talked to Viacheslav Fetisov on the issues of winter swimming as a sport. Roman introduced winter swimming to Dr. Ulumbekova, Head of the Higher School of Healthcare Organization and Management. Interesting discussion were with Professor Kyösti Oikarinen, Chairman of the City Board of Oulu, who said in his speach: "We’re living in the North. We like to live in the North. We like the contrast of seasons. We like to do winter swimming and we like to do winter sports. We are fond of our region. Standard of living is excellent in the North.”
